What is a Ministry?
A group or specific activity carried out by dedicated members of Light of Christ to express or spread their faith and serve Light of Christ Lutheran Church, our communities, and the world.
Each ministry is aligned to at least one of the core values of Know God, Trust God, Share God. God calls us to use the gifts that have been entrusted to us.

Discipleship (Christian Education Ministry)

This ministry intends to take the Commission Jesus gave to His Church seriously: "Go and make disciples..." - not members, or even believers - but disciples! And the means He also gave us by "baptizing them, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded..." The exciting and dynamic ministry of making disciples and enabling spiritual growth is the focus of the Education Ministry. The challenge and satisfaction of getting people of God into the Word of God in as many creative ways as possible is the joy of sharing in this vital ministry.

Youth & Children Ministry (GLOW)
|
Children and youth are unique and vibrant members of Light of Christ. Not just the church of the future, but the church of today. Our youth group, God Lights Our Way (GLOW) offers opportunities to participate in different ministries at Light of Christ; growing in their faith and knowledge of the Lord, growing in confidence in themselves, and embracing opportunities of responsibility as a team member or as a leader are offered.

Music Ministry
|
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord..." Through our music ministry we do just that; praising, worshiping and connecting with Him through sound and word. God is our audience! Those that make music and those that hear it are provided opportunities to grow in their personal relationship with Him during their worship.

Community Garden Ministry
|
A goal of the Community Garden is to bring people together to work in unity for the benefit of others. All are welcomed to participate in the management, building and harvest of the garden. The produce is donated to those in need in our community. We deliver food to: St. Vincent De Paul Society (families in crisis), Mitchell Place Apts. (seniors), Fusion (transitional housing), New Hope Christian Fellowship (feeds the homeless).

Preschool Ministry
|
Light of Christ Preschool is a loving ministry of outreach into our community; providing a warm and caring environment for students to grow emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively. We are blessed to be able to share God's Word with each precious little one; to encourage and be examples of His love to them and to their families. Classes are available for ages 2-5.

Care Ministry
|
The purpose of the Care Ministry is to provide compassionate assistance to people in our congregation, in our community and anywhere else God may lead us to serve. Because God loves us so much, our mission is to share His love by our freely as He leads.
